I think vaisnava is secretly the author of song 1, 3or 4. Either that or his ears don''t work properly. "Epic ancient battle"is the most pro and Holst-war like which is what the thickshake guy wanted in the first place and did you know when Jon williams did star wars he was partly influenced by Holst? go figure.....
actually your wrong... i didnt even submit for this compitition... i found out about it just 4 days ago. check out my other posts... i was over a month behind. I just personally don''t think #2 Epic Battle is "good" also like i said... the part with the voices echoing is AMAZING but the rest is just so so, and not moving at all.

None of them are really all that great, but Epic_Ancient_Battle or whatever it was is the best one of those 4.
Not choosing a winner as I quite like two of them equally but just giving some feedback to the composers more than anything.

I thought Bloodlust was the best quality right up until that melody line comes in, but it is also the one which least matches the setting given?

Epic ancient is good, but near the beginning it sounds as though there are two tracks being mixed together? and it doesnt sound right to me. Good quality but needs mastering? Is that the sound of bats I hear at the end? seems out of place as well as the watery type effect after the middle build up. The build up towards the end of the main section scene sounds triumphant? I mean, someone just won, but lots of people died?

Art of war is good quality but sounds under produced in comparison to the others? Seems as though its met the criteria but maybe nothing extra has been put in by the composer.

War full unfortunatly lacks the production quality of the other three but is a good composition. I particularly liked the main middle section.

I am a member but I don''t want to offend anyone here so Ill post anonymously. To the above poster who says Bloodlust is best quality....are you serious or just on drugs? I know music is a subjective thing but, oh please, cmon. It sounds terribly amateur. I must agree with you other guys...Epic Ancient Battle is definitely best and if I were playing a war game this is the tune that would rouse me most. It just sounds the most professional in every way (I think I know who did it). War Full comes in at 2nd place but still quite a way behind in quality. I must ask you thickshake, did you post these here for others to decide for you or just for fun? Isnt it obvious to you which is best? I dont know.....some peoples ears need to be checked. That''s my 2 cents worth.
Above poster, have you not heard of a thing called an opinion? Everybodies is different! pfft

Except that in terms of "Production Quality" he got all of them exactly backwards.
All of them seems to be somewhat on the light side. I would suggest to make them all heavy and more "epic". It''s a wargame people! We want strong driving harmonies that accompanies the melody. Then again.. It''s just my opinion.

It''s always good to get a 3rd opinion, I''m not a musician, maybe I''ve missed something?

Epic battle is an excellent but complex piece of music, whether it fits into the game is another matter. Sometimes a simple tune can do this better.

Remember the music must give the feel of ancient greece / Rome ... you must be able to close your eyes and instantly get this impression, or while playing the game. Good music can compensate for crappy game! LOL!.

How many ''B'' grade movies have become classics because of a great music score ... The good the bad and the Ugly etc etc.

Is everybody making sure the samples they use in their songs are royalty free?
