Hi ! I have a copyright related question: I want to do a remake of a puzzle game. Also, i would like to recreate the original levels of it - they are great ! Can i be punished for it ? Is there something like a "level design copyright" ? The company who did the original game is a big player, so i don''t want to get in trouble. Thanks for any help ! Don''t mess with the big boys or you will get in BIG trouble. Anyway what game do you want to re-make??

Yeah, i dont want to mess with them, but i want to know if leveldesign is copyrighted or not ... Finally, i could come to the idea to create exactly the same levels without to know that htey already did that. I don''t know the original name of the game, but i saw the "MoveMove" for the Samsung e700 mobile phones and i saw that it is cool

WARNING! Do NOT remake a game unless you have written permission to do so, especially if you are copying the levels. Andre'' Lamothe, founder of XTremeGames and author of several game dev books, got sued last year (by Hasbro) for selling Pong and Breakout clones. Personally, I think that Hasbro bought the rights to those games mainly so that they can make millions (that''s an understatement) off of smaller companies with suites like that. It really pisses me off what some sompanies will do these days just because they''re entitled to. ...just beware, that sort of thing is not to be taken with a grain of salt.
