I want to create my own music player which can play mp3 and other formats. Just to learn. Where can i find some good info beside google? Thanx in advance PS: tips and tricks are welcome:-)
I think there are a couple projects on sourceforge (http://www.sourceforge.net) that deal with that. I think anyway, don''t take my word for it.

You need to do some serious research into mp3 though. The mp3 codec needs to be liscenced to decode. You''d prolly have to pay a fee to whomever so that you''d have the rights to decode that particular formatt.

Are all codecs licensed? Which are not. Maybe i can begin with them then. Is that a heavy fee you have to pay for the mp3 codec?

.ogg is opensource so it''s free to use. I''m not sure about anyother ones. I would assum .wma is but you''d need to check out the microsoft site, or email their support ppl. I know there are other ones out there, but none are coming to me right now.
