Does anyone know if there are any drivers for linux and the Linksys WPC54G wireless card? I looked on LinkSys''s site but no luck. Thanks -cb
Rock the cradle of love! You stupid WANKER!
As far as I know, there are no released drivers for that card. (There are, on the other hand, rumors that Linksys has written the drivers and not released them to the public.) Linuxant has written drivers for the card that they sell (they have a strange relationship with the hardware vendors, allowing them to get official aid to create and release drivers as long as they don''t distribute them nicely; to put it simply). You might be able to get the card to work using NdisWrapper, but it''s not even claimed to be partly supported so I have no idea how well it''ll go and would be pessimistic about your odds of success.

Of course, send an email to Linksys to tell them of your situation and to ask for the release of drivers or the required specifications if you find some time...

I found this thread at LinuxQuestions.org that looks relevant. It seems people have got this working in linux with the ndiswrapper that Null and Void linked to. The project page says it should work with ''any recent 2.4 or 2.6 kernel'', and it claims to support the Broadcom chipset (which is what the WPC54G uses, as far as I can make out). The source release for it is here.
