HELP MAKE A GAME $
i can make models in 3dsmax for a game. i use 3d impact. Now i know most you out there tried out 3drad. well dont worry this engine Impact is a really good engine the only sad part is it involes c++ programming i use Dev-c++ to open some files and to compile them for i can take a preview but i need someone with more knowlege with programming cuz all i do is make models and copy codes of of other projects. but the project i have in mind needs some real programming now tweaking others projects.. i want a game where it is based on 2004 and you must make a living by either fishing, hunting, racing a junky/ kick ass car. steal money rob banks do wut ever it takes to get in the games news paper..i want a HUGE MMORPG. im not sure ifi ts gona be one huge world or one cd in a bunch of servers. This game is prolly impossible to make but i want to give it a shot. i cant pay anyone but if the game makes money cuz were saling if it we do finish then people will be paid there fair share..now remember this game shouldnt take year to make we have a engine already done we just need to write pages of codes and make a bunch of working models...if anyone is in the following are needed. Modelers/testers/programmers/manager/bitmap and textures makers/ and anyone who can give us advice.. thanks!

While rude, the above poster''s comment is shared by pretty much everyone here. The game you propose would take an endless number of years for hobbyist coders to complete (and several years for professionals as well). There''s a reason why you have a hard time "tweaking" others code to do what you want: large-scale programming is actually very difficult and time-consuming. Try your hand at making a clone of a very basic game, like tetris, and you''ll quickly see what I mean. That doesn''t mean programming isn''t worthwhile; it just means that you have to be fairly dedicated to do anything truly impressive.

I thought this was a joke as it corresponds too well to the example pattern of "Beginner wants to make a huge MMORPG". I checked his user profile though and the post seems "serious".
However:
1. It is in the wrong forum. Post things like this in the Help Wanted forum.
2. Also I suggest you learn to present your ideas more clearly, and what you want to achieve. You could improve your spelling efforts (that is use uppercase letters), and although it's not required it would certainly interest more people if you spent a little bit more time writing your post. Probably you will have to read up on how much work such a huge project is anyway before you go on. I don't want to kill your dream, but you should consider your options before you decide.

You''ve made this exact same post a number of times before, and you''ve always been either ignored or laughed out of the forums. I''ll tell you what: If you make this game, and it is anything that remotely resembles a success, and can dEmonstrate that to my satisfaction, I will give you $100. Crap, I''ll give you $1000. Also, I''ll paint your house.
Stop talking about it. You''ve been spouting the same pitch for months, and the project obviously hasn''t progressed at all. Your typing is poor enough to make me think you''re a ninth grader with a bootleg copy of Bryce who learned how to use the terrain tool to make 3D porn, and I''m disinclined to believe that any team of twelve programmers that you managed to rake together resembles anything so much as two lunch tables worth of D&D-playing, spectacle-wearing, wedgie-receiving, TI-92-wearing dorks who think it would be teh win to maek teh bset gaem evar.
Time was, I sat at that lunch table. I designed a series of revolutionary platform games that would turn the gaming world on its head. I invented 3D gameplay. Crap, if you look at the tesseract threads, I''m still that guy. I''ve done a little bit of modelling, and I know a litle C++, but you have to realize that games are perhaps the most sophisticated software in the world, and that they can''t be made in under a year by a handful of geeks anymore. The days of Jordan Mechner and Sid Meier are long gone. Have you watched the credits at the end of a game? Scores of people. Scores. And they''ve all got degrees in what they do.
So here''s what you do: You get your team, and you start making shareware. Make a good Tetris clone, make a good Asteroids clone (Mealstrom, anyone?) and get a few bucks from that. Then, with a portfolio and some bona fide training, get a job with a development team. There aren''t enough "experienced" game makers out there for them to close the door in the face of a neophyte with some experience. Maybe two or three of your twelve guy will get jobs in the industry, with some dedication and good fortune. With luck, you''ll be able to get to work on this idea you have before 2010. Good luck.

Maxd, you''ve got screenshots, models and a reasonable goal. No. Is it really called Gruntacktica? Sweet.
some people have got ideas way too big for their own head. And apart from the fact of why would anyone even want to play this game, unless they were locked in a room with it, even that would have to be for a long time,
