hi to everyone on the forum in new to the forums but have used gamedev for 2 yrs now and i have got a few design written down and some drafts done this one i created about 15 mins ago and is very basic and im expecting some really bad criticism towards it and i can handle it!!!! It not very detailed and is in bits sorry and also excuse any spelling mistakes Modern day - Cop has to do battle with gang, developing a love interest with gang leaders daughter, inturn some where through the game he has to choose : the girl or his life! set in modern day this fps would feature real locations as well as real body targeting such as the engine used in soldier of fortune 2 .around half way through the game you come to a point whether you choose the girl or your life. a typical example would be that you had to choose whther to kill your lover or your cop partner. depending on who you shoot the game follows 2 different narratives.you shoot the girl, you go on to fight the gang etc or if you shoot the partner, you have to become a fugitive and try and not get caught and fight fellow colleagues which u have made relationships earlyier in the game. gangs use real guerilla warfare tactics against traditional police methods with player possibly not coming out on top every time. it has potential to involve various twists in the plot for example day before the choice you find gf has cheated with some one. not neccesarily every player will shoot her wen u get the choice. I''d call that a story gimmick rather than a game design. It''s been done before, of course. Deus Ex had it years ago. You''re on an assassination mission, and if you get to the mark first, you chat with him, and he tells you that you''re an unwitting pawn of an evil organization. Then your partner comes in, and she commands you to kill the mark. You can either do as she says, or whack her instead. The game forks there. I''m sure it''s been done even before that. Heck, James Bond married the daughter of a drug lord. She was killed a few hours later, but still...
