i always wondered about these kind of jobs. Does the company still need you after you''ve made the program? I guess you need to constantly revise and operate the thing. But what about like the coke company, do they still need food engineers when their food is already designed?

In addition to the continual need to update the models as the customer base shifts, there is (at least where I work) a healthy queue of things that need analyzing, predicting, etc.

Many games require a single part-time AI programmer, but on Fable we''ve had 5 people working for the last 9 months just on the AI.
This isn''t normal, but B&W2 has multiple AI programmers, Dimitri has multiple AI programmers and BC has multiple AI programmers. It depends on the emphasis of the game though.
