rotate camera...

how do you rotate the camera around say two or three objects? and how do you make a flashlight looking light following the camera?
as for rotating around three objects:
Transform to the center of all three objects, do your rotation, then you can transform to each objects placement and draw them. If you would like an example let me know.

flashlight looking light:
try building a spot light facing in the direction to or from the camera(which ever you are trying), then draw your geometry within a push attrib block, let me know if this works if not let me know when you get it figured out

yeah i would really like an example....

the rotation sucks even if I rotate only around one object....

this is a part of my draw funktion...

I''m kind of new in this =)

Try this out. You can play with it to tweek it. The thing is you have to build your object around your rotation vector.

gluLookAt(0,1, 10, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1, 0); // This determines where the camera''s position and view is

glTranslatef(0.0f,0.0f,-10.0f);

glRotatef(xRot, 1.0f, 0.0f, 0.0f);
glRotatef(yRot, 0.0f, 1.0f, 0.0f);
glRotatef(zRot, 0.0f, 0.0f, 1.0f);

glTranslatef(2.0f,0.0f,0.0f);

glPushMatrix();
glBegin(GL_QUADS); // Draw A Quad
glColor3f(0.0f,1.0f,0.0f); // Set The Color To Green
glVertex3f( 1.0f, 1.0f,-1.0f); // Top Right Of The Quad (Top)
glVertex3f(-1.0f, 1.0f,-1.0f); // Top Left Of The Quad (Top)
glVertex3f(-1.0f, 1.0f, 1.0f); // Bottom Left Of The Quad (Top)
glVertex3f( 1.0f, 1.0f, 1.0f); // Bottom Right Of The Quad (Top)
glColor3f(1.0f,0.5f,0.0f); // Set The Color To Orange

okey... thanks you helped me alot..

but i don''t understand what the glPushMatrix
and the glPopMatrix does...
glPushMatrix saves the current matrix (transformations, rotations, etc.)
glPopMatrix restores the saved matrix
