Full texture to wireframe in 3DS Max, possible or not?
Hi, I want to make an object that goes from a texture with bitmaps and lightings and all that and fades to a wireframe object... Do you see what I mean? Well if you do, is it possible in 3D Studio Max 5.1? and if so, how?
thanks

No, render the sequence three times (textured, solid color then wireframe) w/the character mesh as the alpha then do a wipe in some compositing application.

Of course it''s possible!
You activate the Wire checkbox in the ''Shader Basic Parameters'' rollout and then in the ''Extended Parameters'' rollout you can set (and animate) the wire size. It''s better in this case to check the ''Units'' mode because the wire is independent of the resolution or distance from the camera.
That''s it. Easy.
Bye now. Must go and listen to some heavy metal.

You could blend the normal material and it''s wireframe version using "Blend" material type. You can control the blend function with any map, for example, a gradient.
