The latest Anjuta
Is it just me, or is the latest version of Anjuta REALLY slow? Not only that, but after using it for a little while my system gets so bogged down it nearly stops. While it''s running my hard drive is constantly thrashing.
Anyone else have any observations?

Was it that?
I was programming python in anjuta with many files open for almost whole day and my system came very slow in the evening.. I had to hit reset finally I couldn''t do nothing. HD was just working keyboard didn''t work.. and it didn''t come suddenly it was slowing down for longer time.

Geez, what distros ar you using? and what do you mean by latest version? latest release? or CVS?
I''m using Red Hat 9 with the latest release of Anjuta (as in, not CVS).

This is where your problems are from. RH9 seems to have some problems. I have it in a test environment at work and I can guaranty that I''m sure as hell not deploying that until it''s stable. My old RH7.3 still does the trick for now.

Will I ever find a Linux distro that works 100%?
When people realise that linux is much better than Windows and there''s no point in buying a bad operating system when you can get a good one for free, and linux will gain a good user base and take over the world, changing the face of the universe as we know it.

After seeing this thread I re-installed Anjuta (1.1.97). I haven''t closed it since, have actually used it for editing some files, and I haven''t seen any problems like what you describe. Earlier pre-releases for Anjuta 1.2 did feel slow for me, however (I think it uses Scintilla, which formerly had a rather crappy GTK+ 2 port; I think they fixed it since).
That said, older versions do have reported (but, so-far unverified) massive memory leak problems (which is what it sounds like you''re describing). (I should clarify for those unaware of how Debian''s bug tracker works: it often replicates bugs that are not the fault of Debian itself, and they''re marked "upstream" to signify this; like that bug.)
Another specific thing I''ve noticed is when I opened a project and it''s opening individual source files, it starts out really fast but then starts to slow down, even though the file sizes aren''t any bigger.
To graphically show what it looks like:
Also, file i/o seems to be slow in general. Saving a file takes several seconds, even when it may only be a hundred or so lines long!
