So there''s a creative labs contest at nehe now. I read this part there: The demo does not have to be a single effect as some people have read into it. Rather it should be a single scene that may incorporate multiple effects My question is where does it state it should be a single scene at all? Is there hidden rules somewhere. I checked Creative Europes homepage but could not find any info on the contest there...

That was an answer from creative related to questions and posts that people had already asked. I don''t think there is any rule against multiple scenes. I think the reason people are thinking of it as one scene is becuase demos that nvidia makes to showcase their video cards are generally 1 scene. Check out http://www.nvidia.com/page/power_demos.html to see the videos of their demos and you will see what I mean.

I think maybe the recent news update was kind of out of context for you becuase there were older news updates that talked about the contest. Go to NeHe''s main page and at the very bottom right hand side go to enable old news. Then search for creative or contest and you should see some of the stuff you missed.
