I've FINALLY gotten a CVS server set up, but now I still can't get anonymous access to work. I want folks to be able to connect and check out code anonymously, like pretty much every other online CVS repository will let you do. When I try to connect with

cvs -dserver:anonymous@*my server IP goes here*:/home/cvsroot login   

it says "/home/cvsroot: no such repository" but when I connect with

cvs -z3 -d:ext:cvsuser@*my server IP goes here*:/home/cvsroot co blahblah   

it'll checkout blahblah (not the real name) fine. I tried following the instructions here but that didn't work. Any ideas? Edit: Hmmm, it still puts smilies inside CODE tags. [edited by - BradDaBug on October 13, 2003 12:24:39 AM]

You must have done something wrong while following the instructions. Certainly the commands you have here (replacing the ) are correct.

file permisions for your cvsroot perhaps?

I''ve my (non public) cvsroot owned by a `cvs` group, of which the user names I want to have access to it are a member.
