If you use it, what do you like about it? If not, have you heard of it? Do you hate it?
I use it depending on my mood. I switch between xfce4 and fluxbox. I like xfce because of its desktop environment, gives me the minimize, maximize, close buttons. Also has the taskbar across the top. Plus it has a pretty nice toolbar thingy at the bottom where I can just click the buttons for the app I need. The only thing I donut like about it which isn''t really xfce''s fault is that it is gtk2 based so it is a little slow and heavy on a low end laptop.

I''ve never heard of it, but I have tried lots of Window Managers and from my experience I don''t like any of them but GNOME and KDE (no, not even fluxbox).

I used it for a few minutes and found it very frustrating to use. I gave up and installed gnome 2.4. Speed hasn''t really been an issue before because my Linux desktop is much faster than my iBook whether I have gnome running or not.
Pretty!

I use it.. what do I like about it?

  • It''s pretty fast.
  • It''s nice enough to look at.
  • It''s compliant (freedesktop.org)
  • Mouse wheel selects desktop, loved that in Fluxbox.
  • Was able to remove 99% of the keybindings.
  • Xinerama works...

My work, home and laptop computer run it by default and what I like about it is simply the fact that it's pretty lite. Has a pretty good default File Manager(xffm) even though I prefer to use command line to deal with file management. It's easy to add speed launch buttons in the pannel(can be added in less than 10 seconds). It's pretty nice to look at and just simple to you. I use to be a big GNOME and KDE fan but found that these WM use to be too slow for my Laptop machine and since I like to use the same thing on most of my computers, I opted for XFce4 and Fluxbox which are my two prefered WMs.

I installed it to check it out and I found that it''s a little annoying after a while to use.. maybe it''s just me .

I''ll have to give it another shot later.
