JoGL tutorial #5, problems with detecting escape key

I''m running the code for lesson #5 in JoGL, and everything works except that the escape key doesn''t close the program. Anyone know why this is happenning? Thanks. -Nick

Yes, Java OpenGL. Nehe has source code for it. But the escape key doesn''t work.
