Damn it''s so hot here in England today. Phew. Sweltering... Oh yeah the post. Has anyone here played the Hover Craft game that NeHe provided a link to? It''s really excellent, although it''s a bit hard to know where you''re going sometimes. Here is the link to the game: http://hovercraft.free.fr/menu.php?page=telecharger Is there a point to this post I hear you say... Well actually there is. My question is this... Just how the hell have they done that incredible water effect on the main menu when you move the mouse around?? It looks so awesome. I''d love to try to recreate the same type of effect but where to start. Anyone got any ideas?? Do you think they are using the Multi-Texture Extension for the menu effect or something else that I''m not aware of?? Has anone else here created a similar effect? Righty, time for me to jump into a nice cold shower and cool down!
It was going at a billion FPS for me so i couldnt tell what the desired effect was.

Here''s my water effect:

This is sort of old code, so it runs slower than it should. Everything needed to create the effect can be pulled from this article:

That''s not quite the water effect I''m looking for. I want to create ripples in the water when you move the mouse around the screen. Exactly like the Main Menu in that HoverCraft game.
The article does describe how to do such an effect - i just addapted it for a 3d plane.
