So you did see me at GDC 2002.
It was the 8th tequila slammer that did it.
I take no responsability.
Great. I''ll try to make it - I''m already down for your roundtable Alex so spotting you over a busy pub shouldn''t be a problem. Of course, a pole dancer would help...

See you there.

I am not an AI programmer and I am not going to GDCE, but I really like pub crawls and Earl''s Court is quite close to me.

Can I come too?
flangazor, so you''re just interested in the pub crawl?

Since you don''t meet any of the two criteria, it may not be the best pub crawl for you...

Well, I am interested in AI and game programming. I don''t work for a game company though and I don''t program AI stuff for work.

I dabble in AI at a novice level (-I am an advanced level programmer). Maybe when you guys are talking shop it will go over my head, but I am still interested in listening in!
Well, despite half of the underground being out of power and having to catch a taxi half way to Waterloo it was great to finally get into London and meet up with the guys that made it to the pub crawl. I wish I''d had more time to talk to all of you, but the talking I did (mostly listening) was all good

Hopefully this will become a yearly thing, if not more often. I''m definately up for doing it again, turning up earlier and perhaps drinking a little less.

To those that didn''t stay until the end, we did make it into the Microsoft party, although it was a bit of a fight and only thanks to the silver tongued Daniel Deptford did we make it pass the lovely female bouncer and into the horrendously overpriced bar.

Cheers for organising this Alex, here''s to the next one

Bah! I knew I shouldn''t have gone back to the hotel before the last pub! But I had notes to write down... Yeah, it was a blast. Thanks to Alex for organising it and again, to Rob for the pointers Sorry I didn''t speak to you Lionheads as much as I''d have liked to - I was lambasted by our Lead Programmer for not sucking your brains out and wiring them into our AI server...maybe next year

Thanks again, and if anyone happens to be around Manchester or Stafford and wants a tour and a few too many beers, let me know

Andy
Yes, the gods were against us. Power cuts, torrential rain and the whole of london grinding to a halt... what were the chances?

Anyway, it was definitely a success despite it all. I have to agree that it seemed a bit too short. Anyway, there''s always next year!

damnit why is it i find out about these things after they happen!?! i stood outside in the bloody rain for over a hour trying to wave down a taxi (i caught one dropping someone else off and managed to blag my way in).

i''ll guess that''ll teach me to be late to alex''s round table shindig (i spent more at ects playing soul calibur 2 than i did at gdce!)

still, what i did manage to catch of the round table was pretty good. doing another one next year?

This might not be a bad idea for the GDC!

I don''t actually remember many pubs around the GDC convention site....lots of bars in restaurants, but no pubs....
