First off, everyone else seems to be right about it being way too slow. At first I got used to the slow down, but as the levels progress there are even more ships and it gets even slower.
You have to either include an epileptic warning or change that background flashing and whatnot during level 2, sorry to be so rough, but I thought I was going to throwup after watching it for a few minutes.
This may just be a comment on the genre, but it seems there are many points where skill is not a factor in this game. I''m refering to the points at which bullets have flooded the screen and the only thing you can do it find the path that might include the least ammount of damage, the times at which the ship is much to slow to react to any attacks (although I saw there are ship upgrades, which is good, but it seems that even in the first level there were a few spots with this), and to be specific, the spot in level 2 (I think it was the level boss, but I didn''t make it past him, so I don''t know) in which he whips a chain of purple fire at you, and it follows you no matter where you go, making it impossible to avoid, especially while attacking him.
I think with come cleaning up of the slowdown effects, graphics, and gameplay, this could get a lot better, it seems you put a lot of work into this, so keep it up.

This was developed in Visual Basic 6.0, with Directx7, so the slowdown is fairly unavoidable.
I am taking the flashing out of level 2, no need to comment on it anymore.
I can''t figure out how to hide the mouse, thats why the crosshairs there.
While the purple fire chain is unavoidable, there''s some strategy to it. The best strategy is to move as slow as possible, so that it''s bullets are always right on your ship''s edge. When you get to the edge of the screen cut back through it as fast as you can and damage will be minimal.
