Impressions of Redhat 8

I have been tinkering with RedHat for a couple of weeks now and overall I really like the potential control it gives me in running an OS but where it really fails horribly is its GUI. Many of you probably realize this though. When I had to set up apache or my ftp through GNOME like firewall settings and port configurations I found that many changes I made through the windows never actually happened and that I had to go to the command line 99% of the time and edit the .conf files. Now, I can see why hardcore Linux users like the command line so much. So, since I wasted your time reading this I''ll just say this much...Until any Linux distro (that I know of) gets their act together with the GUI to try and par with windows, Linux will only be the choice of programmers and not general users.
Well, R2D22U2..
