Can anybody give me some links to a good free 3d modeler, not commercial though since I''m very short on cash. Thankx.

[size="2"]I like the Walrus best.
Ok I''m downloading it right now to try it. It looks nice and it''s even open source...Any more suggestions?

Blender really is the best thing you're going to find, I think.
Well, Discreet's gmax is excellent, but I'm not sure I would suggest it. It's basically 3DSMax but harder to use in games (filetypes).
Milkshape 3D is $20US, but still good (and very easy to use).
Otherwise, you can (if, of course, there were no laws against this ) download 3DSMax or Maya.

red eye is coming back (the old site is still around, albeit in a weird transitional form)

gsgraham.comSo, no, zebras are not causing hurricanes.
The program it''s pretty nice, I learned how to do small objects and stuff like that and I like it. The interface it''s kinda of a mess though there are buttons everywhere . I''m having a problem though each time I click in material buttons and then on the button called something like "0 mat 1" the program freezes and I have to restart my computer! Is that something I''m doing wrong? I''m using WinXP so I don''t know if that might have something to do with it...

A few other open source 3d apps
www.wings3d.com
Art of Illsion (don''t know the URL)
Animor (ditto)
Nurbana (ditto)
Wings is a lot easier to grasp than Blender and the work flow is better IMHO. But if you need to animate something then use Blender;wings does not have animation yet.

What freezes up?
Oh my problem isn't when I try to render but when I try to set the textures if that's what it means by materials. Something I'd like to add it's that the gui looks kind of messed up (not the buttons but the toolbar). I tried to disable visual themes but it only made it worse...I hate XP....
