Need to upgrade.
Hey, I know this is off topic, but I really need help. I need to upgrade my processor and get a graphics card for my computer. I currently do not have a graphics card and am running an AMD-K6 processor clocked at 475 MhZ. It is really slow. I know you can buy AMD processors, but will I need to change my motherboard? I want to get a processor that goes over 1 GhZ, maybe a 2GhZ processor, but I don''t want to spend a bundle. If anyone can help, that would be great. Thanks in advance!

I think you will need to get a new motherboard.
Better with ddr ram anyways "I''m asuming your using sdram"
You can get a geforce4MX quite cheap o maybe a radeon 9500.

How cheap are you looking for?
Dell sells cheap systems these days, but it doesn''t sound like you are on the market for a full blown machine.
You can get a decent setup from newegg.com, I do all my online shopping there because they are reliable, friendly and quick. Although they don''t always have the cheapest prices, they do have prices that are very near the cheapest.
Here is a sample setup:
AMD Athlon 2000+ (running at 1.67GHz)
Thermaltake Volcano 7 CPU fan
512MB DDR2100 (CAS2 for best performance)
ECS K7S5A Motherboard
GeForce4 TI4200 64MB
All this for: $296.99 + shipping (probably under $10)
And if I ordered this today, it would be on my doorstep by Thursday most likely.
