Hi, The Sound SDK I''m using only accepts WAVE files if they''re in uncompressed format. Almost every single sound editing program saves them as compressed, though. Does anybody know of any programs that will convert waves to uncompressed format? I don''t want to spend much money, so freeware apps would be greatly preferred. I just need a WAV decompressor. Anybody know of one? Thanks, Ishamael

Well guys, the type of compression performed on the WAVE file has nothing to do with the program that created it. When you are working with music/sound in Windows, you are probably working with codecs, which are kindof like plug-in''s. Each sound program uses a codec to write to/read from a certain file format. Check your codecs, more than likely your writing to your WAVE file with one of Microsoft''s compression codes, like ADPCM, or just plain PCM (I think both write to a WAVE file using Microsoft''s RIFF format). The only problem is, it will be really hard to find a codec which writes raw WAVE files, check a codec supply site.
