33 MHz bus?
In my kernel log files there''s a line that says "ide: Assuming 33MHz system bus speed for PIO modes; override with idebus=xx". So this WHOLE time Linux has been thinking my IDE bus is 33 MHz, NOT 100 MHz like it should be?!
So where do I put this ''idebux=xx'' thing?

lilo.conf
Which boot manager do you use?
Problems with Windows? Reboot! - Problems with Linux? Be root!
Lilo, i think.
I did some searching on my own and it appears that the "system bus speed" actually means PCI bus, not FSB or IDE bus, so 33 MHz is a good number. But if that's true I don't know why they used a stupid message like that. That's about as misleading as you can get. But that's just *nix, right?
oops i'm being controversial again!
