Bioware .acm music/sound format

Hello, does anyone have any info on the format of .acm music/sound files that most Bioware games use? Fallout, Fallout 2, MDK 2, Baldur''s Gate, Planescape: Torment all use this format, and I''d like to know how this format works. I wasn''t able to find any details on the ''net. I know programs to convert .acm files to WAV files exits, but I''d like to make my own Erik
if you are able to convert it to .wav then it''s just recorded audio. It was probably originally recorded as wav then encoded into whatever .acm is...probably for compression reasons, or just so you dont get to go in and listen to all the music in the game without playing it.

99% of all music begins as MIDI. Most companies use high quality synths to playback the MIDI then record it via SoundForge, or some other recording program, then burn it to CD.

So if you''re trying to figure out if there''s a program to make acm''s much like programs to make midi''s, there isnt
