I recently downloaded Strata 3D because I don''t have a real 3D modeler (and it''s freely available for MacOS and Windows), but am wondering which file format would be the easiest to load models from. Strata 3D supports: s3d, 3dmf, x, dxf, and VRML (1 & 2) formats. Any suggestions? Morgan
I keep banging on about it (I''m not on comission or anything!) but Milkshape is a great modeller/texturer for games:

Yeah, milkshape looks cool, but I''m doing my development on Macs and then porting it to Windows when I''m done (thank god for CodeWarrior otherwise I''d waste my money on VC++).

hey Morgan check out meshwork its a really simple modeler for the mac
as far as 3d file formats go I think 3dmf is pretty good it
uses texture/decal information unlike dfx-

Yeah, I do prefer 3dmf (and I have some loader source for it already). I''ve tried meshwork and found it clumsy and awkward, it''s really hard to get polyons to come out right.

what do you mean like back/front faceing polys?
my main problem with meshwork is thers no real time free rotate and edit just the rave preview-
I''m going to get Strata 3D when I get my Cable modem nextweek I remember trying it out-It has nice bones,should be pretty good for anyones needs-I would still model in meshwork thou,for low-poly game models.
I''ve been useing Hash Animation Master its pretty good 300 bucks{i think}
