SDK = Software Development Kit. Development kits for consoles are the hardware and/or software necessary to program for them. The manufacturers provide software tools to access the hardware contained in the machines to allow programmers to utilise the machine.

Being that this post is in the beginners forum I will take the liberty of presuming that you are going to ask how you go about getting hold of a dev kit and/or programming consoles.. Make sure if and when you do ask this you also inform people of your programming experience and what exactly you want to pursue.
