Development tools for existing games?

I know there are development kits for many games out there I was wondering if anyone knows of a web site i can get a level developer tool or something for either quake 2 or half life.

You really should have googled but....

Half Life:

First off of go here...

Then go here...

...and read through the faq, there is a ton of links to various modding tutorials there.

Quake 3:
(not looked for any Quake 2)

Lots of level editors for quake 2 and quake 2 engine based game half-life. Check out those links.

If you have HL... should have come with ''Worldcraft'' I believe.... otherwise download it. IT was the editor endorsed to be used. Lot of tutorials on it.

Also... Quark (Quake Army Knife)level editor was preferred by the programmer i wanted to help on his 3d engine project. He up to that point, had basically made a quake 2 engine clone.

On a side note... Don''t ever think a ''Polock'' is stupid. Some are incredibly brilliant.
