Yet another n00b.......
Im wondering if should buy a game programming book or a general programming book. i have no experience w/ c/c++. what do you think i should do/what books would be good for a newbie??(in your opinion)

Learn C/C++ first. Don''t confuse yourself with graphics and stuff ''till you have a good understanding of the language.
Its worth taking the time to fully understand your chosen language before you start making any games - tho it might be useful to make a few simle programs to cement your understanding of various programming concepts.
