My first C++ & OpenGL game...

After 2 months of dabbling around with C++ and OpenGL, I finally have something to show for my efforts. It''s a 1 and 2 player version of Tetris, with two modes of play. It''s best played as 2 player on slider mode. I''d appreciate it if you could take a look at it and let me know how it runs (if it runs :o). I''m expecting varying results ''cos I use a frame based animation but time based block movement. I need to have a good hard think about how to make the whole thing time based. Click on X-Tetris to download it. No source as yet - I need to comment it a bit first. Jeroen

Nice, very nice, runs perfectly on my rig:

AthlonXP 1900+
GF 3 Ti 200
512DDR

No timing problems from what you described. I especially like the way the blocks move from there preview area to the main window, looks cool, its effective . Thou the score does not change? is it not ment to yet? other than that, nice work

Ta. Scores are only increased for lines removed, not pieces placed. Something to add to the intro, I think.

It''s very nice! Although as I have v-sync OFF by default it went rather fast. The preview block spinning and the row fading away etc. So yeah time based?

And uh just me but I wasn''t that keen on the music =)

P4 2.2GHz
512MB RDRAM
GeForce4 TI4600

Good work!

It''s a, errm, ''characteristic'' of the game . I''ve been busy testing it in slider mode. Will jot this down.

I got a "This page is unavailable message."

And so, the evil religion thread stole the wonderful "What the Heck?" thread's throne. Truly a sad day for gamedev.
I haven''t tested your game unfortunately (no time), but I''m sure it''s great. I just wanted to point out that there''s another game called "X-Tetris" which is a bit ... different.

Not sure if you wanted your game confused with that one.

Good luck
