Mass, instant MP3 converter?
I''m tired of having to individually save files as mp3''s in programs like Cool Edit - does anyone know of a program where you can just select a group of mp3''s and convert them all at once?
Search for "CDex" on google. It can extract audio tracks as well as converting multiple WAV files to ogg/mp3 and it''s free.
Hey SA-Magic,
You can also Batch process your files in Cool Edit if you dont want to open another program. Just go to Options > Scripts & Batch Processing.

I see it, SL - how do I work it? The Help section seems overly complicated...
So with this - is it possible to have automated scripts? e.g. instead of flanging and pitching a sound (Manually), it can be automatically done?

SA,
Yes...but you still have to do it manually the first time
If you open a wave file, go to Scripts and Batch Processing and click on the button to start recording the script...then just go through the motions of applying whatever effect or effects you want to the file. Then go back to the scripts window, click on stop script, add to collection, then name and save your script. Now you can run that script anytime from the script window or click on Batch run to apply it to any number of files. During a batch run, you can also choose to save the files as any file format (wav, MP3, etc).
Here a link to a tutorial section for Cool Edit 2000 off of the Syntrillium Website:

Hope this helps!

SA,
Along with accidentally posting anonymously, I also forgot to mention that there are Cool Edit forums at:
http://forums.syntrillium.com/
I get on them occasionally if I need an answer to something. The people there seem very friendly and helpful and you will usually get a quick response to your questions.
Once you start using the script/batch function...you''ll find it very useful.
Best of luck,
Lamb
