New to this forum. Some advice please?
Hello people!I''m new to this forum and i''d like some help.
I saw that in the tutorial section there are a lot of different categories.(graphics,math,etc..).I really don''t know from where i shall begin...Studing some physics,math,programming....?
I must say here that i have some basic programming knowledge, especially in Java and C++.
I''d be grateful if you could some direction.
Thanks a lot.

Don''t post threads twice is a good start, and I think that the topics of the different forums give quite a good indication about what they are...
click edit by your name, select delete post or what not and click edit...problem solved
Uhh, first off, what are you trying to do. I''m guessing game development. And you say that you know C++. Well, a few options are open for you:
1. Buy a game development book. However, this is the worst option of them all I find the game development books boring, expensive, and generally not very inviting for new programmers.
2. Look at the SDK. This option''s not bad. There are tutorials in DX SDK, and they''re not too bad. Pretty basic, and can get you on your feet.
3. Look for an engine. Looking for 3D? I have heard that OGRE is really good. Might have to do a search on google for it, cuz I don''t know the URL off the top of my head. Looking for 2D? I have made a 2D engine in D3D that''s pretty good. IM me on AOL Instant Messenger; screen name ArmySarj, or on MSN messenger; email VChelaru@hotmail.com.
4. Look around on the Internet for tutorials. drunkenhyena.com has some nice ones for DX.

Depends what kind of graphics software you need
What you heard was probably about certain 3D modeling/rendering software, like 3DS MAX or LightWave. They are often quite brutally priced, yes.
2D software ranges from MS Paint (free and utterly worthless), to Paint Shop Pro (pretty good and reasonably cheap) to PhotoShop (expensive and powerful as hell). Or you could try GIMP (free and powerful as hell, if you can stand the UI).
Could you please suggest me the best in your opinion 3d and 2d CHEAP graphic programs?
GIMP is good for 2D art. You''ll probably want the Windows port, though. Download and install GTK first though, also on that page. Not as good as PhotoShop, but it is free and a hundred times better than MS-Paint, if not more.
Chess is played by three people. Two people play the game; the third provides moral support for the pawns. The object of the game is to kill your opponent by flinging captured pieces at his head. Since the only piece that can be killed is a pawn, the two armies agree to meet in a pawn-infested area (or even a pawn shop) and kill as many pawns as possible in the crossfire. If the game goes on for an hour, one player may legally attempt to gouge out the other player's eyes with his King.
