I am learning blender right now for 3D graphics, but I am more interested in learning 2D graphics. Are there any free programs I can download that will let me render 2D graphics? Thanks.
Well the word "rendering" is almost always used in conjunction with 3D or lighting. What exactly do you want to make in 2D?

You could always try the GIMP

A lot of people use 3d models to make the graphics and then render them at certain angles to produce 2d graphics. Blizzard used this technique in Diablo and Diablo II.

But if you just insist on using on learning traditional 2d art then google for articles on 'pixel' art or follow this link ->Link

Try the Visual Arts forum for some more advice.

But for pixel art, I would highly suggest PixelFunction.com. Some great tutorials and lessons, etc.
