OS compatibility of the tutorials?
Hi.
I''m currently trying to learn OpenGL via NeHe''s tutorials. I use WinXP on my personnal computer but when my friends try to run my code on their computers (running on Win9X) it doesn''t work.
Maybe it is their video cards?
One uses a voodoo 5 32 and the other a 3d prophet 64
I tried at school under WinXP, with an ATI rage 128 (uh?) and it worked fine!
Thanks for answering and pardon my english.
voodoo are not very good OpenGL cards, though with recent drivers you *could* get something fine but not sure.
3D prophet doesn''t even know that OpenGL exists
ATi Rage 128 is a pretty old card, but the OpenGL support is good, according to a friend of mine who has one.
I don''t think it has to do with the OS. Most of the time, problems come from the driver or the card itself.

There are some things that changes OS will do in OGL like make the textures look crappy or something. Ive run into this problem when ported half-life stuff to linux. The card has to be good and drivers up to date. Win is all the same so it really not a diffrent OS its just a diffrent version
.
