hardware capacity?

I have a 8 mb ATI 3D Rage Pro and i''m wondering if it can handle ~10000 polys in memory and maybe 800 onscreen for this big...thing...i''m doing...TOP SECRET!
a rage doesn''t support extensions that allow you to hold geometry in video memory. So they will have to be streamed over the agp bus anyway (ie, glDrawElements).


800 polys on screen should be childs play for pretty much any card (unless you do something weird like have a different texture bind per triangle)

ok. But why then, when I run tutorial #7(the crate) in fullscreen the screen is green and it runs at 5 fps?
thats likly because the pixel format isn''t being set (or zero''d) correctly.
