What will be the best 3D Engine of the market: DOOM III or UNREAL II And which features will have each one.
Hello,

Are you trying to start a new flamewar, or what? I haven''t seen much of the Unreal 2 engine, but it looks awsome. I''ve tried the leaked Doom 3 demo, yes i know it''s pre-alpha, and I''m not that impressed with it. It''s cool with nice shadows and shaders and stuff. But it doesn''t look as awsome as it could/should. They''ll have to boost it a bunch if they are gonna beat Unreal 2 i think.

Super Mario Brothers 2 had the best graphics engine EVER! Way more realistic then those 2 little engines. /scoff

If you want the best engine possible, even better then a perfect virtual-reality simulations, we already have it: ACTUAL REALITY. Reality has the most realistic physics and graphics...I mean the clipping plane is really far (assuming you don''t live in a major urban area).

And the frame rate? 1 billion frames per second.

I must agree with this post, I''ve never seen a bug in the "ACTUAL REALITY" engine, it''s just perfect, I really don''t know what hardware is being used to run the engine but I''m sure it''s not a ''low cost'' one... Have you ever thought of the polys per second it renders? And what about the shadow''s detail? Colision detections is really the coolest I''ve ever seen... There''s perfect A.I. included, but I think I should call it only Inteligence, because it''s so perfect that it doesn''t seem artificial....

I''d have to disagree. I''ve seen many bugs with the "reality" engine. There''s this guy walking around talking to himself and checking in tree limbs for crack in my engine. The artificial intellegence is also not the best I''ve ever seen (I''m in the oklahoma level).
