pls, is anybody who knows, where I can find a specification for 3D Studio .MAX file format? thanx
Try these:

This file on my computer that can be downloaded only when my comp''s up which should be about 60% of the time - so try again later if it isn''t. Have no idea where I got it from

This place for another .3ds file format spec

This place for the .mli file specs

Note that the official specification hasn''t been released for the format so don''t expect too much... Also, the first and the second link complement each other quite a bit - a personal notion.

Hope this helps,

Thank you very much for your reply, but I need the .max file format. The .3ds format I use yet. But thanx again.
As far as I know the MAX format is complicated and fully undocumented. It stores the whole history of the objects (something like a stack of operations).
If you wat to use MAX to make objects for your game, write an export filter. The MAX SDK is well documented with examples.
