direct x 9 rumors?
hello,
I got a reply to my askings about directx and I was refered to his site(thanks again by the ways) but it required direct x 9 but i only had 7. I had a guy I know download it for my because I have a 56k modem and it would have taken me over 3 hours when it only took him a little more than 20 minutes. When he gave it to me he (being an programmer) told me that he and some people he knew had had some problems with it and it might not run on my system. I have not got a chance to install it yet to see if it does, but why did he say it might not. could it harm my finaly stable system (it only took me 8 months to do that). I dont blame him if it does because I asked for the program. could you give me some ideas to what he was talking about?
thanks.

As much as I know DirectX is the more reliable thing microsoft has
done so far... However if you''re using WinXP/ME you can uninstall
directx by creating a restore point before you install directx9,
if it gives you any problem you can just restore your system to
your created restore point.
To create a restore point:
Start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore
