Looking to fix a Graphix prob in a game.
Hi folks! This is my first time here. AWESOME site!
I''m in a bit of hurry so I''ll cut to the chase. I play a game called "orld War II On-Line". The problem is that those of us that are using the Radeon cards are having a terrable time with tearing. We''re talkin X-ray vision thru walls and models being rendered on the same plain as the ground tiles so they completely vanish.
PROBLEM: Evidently, the game requires 32 Z-buffering but the Radeon does not use true 32bit Z-Buffering (I''m told it''s there, it''s just not used).. go figure) So what you get is 16 bit even when you tell it to use 32. .. whatever!
Question: What I want to know is; is there a utility that allows you to tweek your D3d settings?
Sorry if this is a lame question, it''s just that I''m getting desparate. We - the wwiiol community- are getting nowhere with ATI. And we really don''t want to shell out another bundle of money to grab an Nvidia, which has few problems with this.
In the game, up to 3 klicks are being rendred ... yup .. 3 kilometers. It''s a vast game and not played in a "box". But when you are trying to strafe a tank with a plane, it would be nice to be able to see it before you get 100 meters from it.
I will be definately spending some time here looking around and learning. Thanks in advance. (Oh, btw, I found you via Google)
Thanks again!
shouldnt the games developers be finding a solution for you ?
btw i played that game about a year ago, i sat on someones tank for 10 minutes while they drove me to the ''action'' the guy said ok we are here, 2 seconds later i died, didnt fancy another 10 minute wait, so shut the game down and went back to playing rtcw
