Falling down on the ground
I am trying to write a small game, so far I have written a heightmap renderer for maps, a quake md2 loader for characters and this is where I meet my first real problem, gravity.
In itself gravity is not a problem, it''s just a force pulling down, but I need to check if the character touches the ground (ie collision detecting) but so far all tutorials I have found are too advanced for me, so I was wondering if you guys could recommend some reading on the subject.
