Downloading Files (Nothing to do with programming at all)

Hi,
I''m having real trouble downloading files nowadays.
Evrybody seems to be using two stages methods for download that are stopping download accelerators working.
Has anyone managed to get around this is any way?

I have had problems now and then downloading files with dialup connections but when I got dsl I have had no problems
