Depth Buffer

Hi guys. Do you know a way to transform object Z coordinate to opengl depth buffer Z coordinate (that you know, varies from 0.0 to 1.0)? I passed the entire day trying to do this, but It didn''t work!! I want this formula to use in the third parameter of gluUnProject(). Thank you a lot guys! Fernando
