I am new to C++ and i have just started programming and i am reading the book C++ from IDG books, is this a good book in understanding C++, and is the BOok advanced C++ from IDG books good? Have any of you guys used them yet? and do any of you guys know where i can find some source code for some games that are written in C++, i use a compiler called Quincy 99 that i got from the book,is this a good compiler?
The truth is out there
most games use Microsoft Visual C++ as the compiler. I''ve never heard of Quincy 99, so I doubt that this compiler is DirectX compatible.

there are a few compilers you can download for free...
i use the borland command-line compiler with VIDE.
other people will likely post their favorite free one (i would but i don''t have those links)...
