My interest in riding a horse in a game is that there could be some artificail intelligence involved in the horse. For example, if your going to be running into a rock, should the horse just hit the rock. Should the horse should be smart enough to jump over the rock without hitting a button on the gamepad? However if your running towards a river and jump in, the horse knows he can not jump over the river, should he jump anyway?

In reality, the horse would not jump off the cliff ( I think. ) Maybe it depends how faithgful the horse is.

it's all about a good time!AOLIM name: -LOKAPUJA-
The point here (in my implementation) is to capture equine behavior combined with controllability. The point of the equine behavior is to realistically model "shying", "spooking", "refusal", "justice", "willingness", "distraction" and so forth. The horsemanship model realistically models evaluation of a horse from a visual standpoint, and the skills a rider develops over time. The horse skills part models the ability of the horse with regard to completing actions, and the breed and physical traits part models the actual makeup of the horse''s body. It''s not complex, just thorough.

For example, prior to becoming the owner of the horse, the horse may have attached to it some possible UTM grid coordinates of where some bad experiences happened. If you ever happen on those UTM grid cooridnates again, the horse will likely refuse to enter that area, on account of his memory of the bad experience.

My model is so far beyond that in capability.
