Does anybody know where I can find a http mirror of Mandrake 9? I can''t get at FTP at collage, and no home connection, so I really need to get a http mirror link. And before you say "Buy any of the Linux DVD magazines with Man 9 on them", no DVD drive either... Thanks in advance. #Old Steve, he said to Xerox "Boys, turn your heads and cough" And when no-one was looking he ripped their interfaces off#

If you go to one of the Mandrake Mirrors you will see them listed and they are browsable via web page. When I clicked on the links for the isos, they started downloading without problems. I'm not sure if this is using ftp or http. For your convience I will link to the Ireland mirror here:

CD 1
CD 2
CD 3

Enjoy!

So you can''t click on those links and start a download?

Nope. All FTP access in and out has been blocked by a firewall.

Thanks, but all I''m getting off them right now is refused connections... I''ll try again tomorrow.

Any other suggestions though?

You could always just buy Mandrake 9.0.

Or perhaps this will work:

http://ftp.fi.muni.cz/pub/linux/mandrake/iso/

EDIT: Well, I thought it'd work, but it looks like all the isos are still downloaded from port 21.

Well, turns out ISOLinux was all FTP as well, but I did get some http links here for anybody interested I did eventually find some at software-engineering.org. They also have the latest Debian, SuSe and Red Hat images.
