I was thinking at 3DS or anything like it but the missing link is that I don`t know any site/place/people that has source/tutorial on how to import/manipulate the 3ds keyframe animation... A second thought I had was to make models in 3DS Max ,export to 3ds, find some spoky proggy and make it convert the 3ds(+keyframe animation) to some format that I have resources to open it up(+Anime), and I discovered MilkShape3D and (Odd) found out that it doesn`t import the KeyFrame and doesn`t wanna export to (for example) MD2 because "They aren`t any joints ." . What else to use ?(For animations) and where to find the resource for that ?(If it`s a spoky format like dotXS) And what is the Best Convertor around anyhow ?(MilkShape3D ? ->It`s so unhandy and confusing...)

For myself, I use the half-life (.smd) format. There aren''t many resources out there on how to implement it but Valve did release the specifications for it, coupled with the tutorial at rsn.gamedev.net, it meets my needs for simple skeletal animation.

I would recommend a library called Cal3D, which is a free project at sourceforge. It defines its own format (and I believe there is a utility to import .3ds). The library handles the loading of the files, and also performs effects such as level of detail and blending between animation. You can get it at cal3d.sf.net
