i'm not real sure if this is the right place to ask, but... anyway i can model just fine, but i can't make textures. i use the GIMP which has quite a few filters, but i find myself pretty much randomly choosing filters from the list till i get something that looks kind of right. the thing that i want to know is how to make textures that aren't completely random. like a face or something. are there any tutorials/resources that you know of where i could learn how to do this kind of stuff? it seems that pretty much all the tutorials i've found basically assume you've been using photoshop for years and they expect you to have read all the previous tutorials that they've written. anyway thanks in advance for any help.
