ok, I''ve been composing music with my pc for quite some years, but I have to admit that I do it 100% intuitive, I know almost nothing about the theory behind it. Well, I''d like to know what chords this are, which I hear in my mind, I suppose that could help a lot But it doesn''t require me to learn to be able to play some piano piece, if someone gave me a sheet full of notes, it would actually be better if there was a book that is not "bound" to a specific instrument. I just want to know how this all works thoretically, what I have a feeling for. On the other hand, I don''t want to make TOO much of a science of it, I''m not going to go for a degree or something just the basics, for, my musical education in school was a joke... thanks in advance, - unshaven
You might want to check out www.musictheory.net It''s a pretty good site that won''t drive you crazy with hardcore theory. I have to compliment you on your desire to learn theory. I myself have a good knowledge of music theory and I can honestly say that it has helped me more than you can imagine in becoming a better composer/songwriter. Hope this helps, good luck!
