I haven''t found much in my searches for information on game engine design. Is there somewhere you guys could point me to get some tips for this?
That''s a good question, as far as I know there aren''t any super-helpful tutorials per se on how to design a game engine, from start to finish. At http://nehe.gamedev.net there are the beginning of a game design tutorial, I think they''ve done 7 parts of it so far. There''s also some books that would probably help you.

Another source of good info might be to check out the Quake1 and Quake2 source, since they are available.

Sorry I don''t have more specific info.

I''ll check that out, thank you.
I did think about looking at the Quake source, but that really didn''t seem like a good way, a lot of stuff to sort through...
my suggestion is get a book dude. there are books for everything about any type of programming, one that i bought talked about engine design.

u can look at ur library too. i know it seems old school but a book will be much more helpful and informative in the long run, plus u can read it in ur lap and code at the same time.

good luck!
"Old school?"

Nothing wrong with books. I love ''em. I''ve seen 3D Game Engine Design or something like that, but I''m cheap so I haven''t bought it yet

The lack of stuff online really surprised me, but I think I''ll scrape together some cash to get that book, thanks.
