Female Character
Hi folks,
Just thought I''d post a pic of a female game character I''m working on.
She still needs a bit of work but shes almost ready for boning and skinning.
The game is a 2d isometric RPG so she will be pre-rendered and used as a game sprite. Shes modelled in 3ds max5, poly box modelling with meshsmooth.
Let me know what you think.
Cheers.
Nick.
Very nice! Can''t wait to see the skinned model. Nice work.
Ready for boning...lol, sorry I couldn''t help but laugh when I read that.

Very impressed by your work there. Proportions look fine to me. Question though (couple actually) First, How long did it take you to do? Second, you use a picture to work from or just made it off the top of your head? (Okay one more question) Did you make the clothing as part of the model? The reason I ask is that if you made the clothing seperate then you could use something like poser to create different outfits for her. Might be too late now but it''s just a thought. Keep up the good work.
I''ve made some subtle changes to the stomach area.
Heres an update
Just answer a few questions.
She took me about 3 weeks to complete.
The clothes are made seperately, I''ll be making more clothes and different hair styles to alter the model to make different characters.
As for making the clothes in Poser. Not a chance I never use Poser apart from using screen grabs of the models as a background image (reference pic) to block out the shapes and get the proportions right as theres a real lack of high res reference pics around.
Not that I''ve got anything agaisnt Poser I''d just rather spend my time learning to model rather than messing around with pre-made ones.
Cheers.

The head seems a bit big and the hands are flat, common error most people have. Lower legs are to short and shoulders seem a bit too far out, but might look fine in a normal pose, hard to tell in those T poses.
the boots look great.
