I think they stopped selling the standard version. I got mine for half price at amazon.com with a mail in rebate.

all very well but does anyone know how much it actually costs?
The standard version is selling right now for about $100 (US). I just bought it for $150 (Canadian).

Included in the box is a mail-in rebate coupon for $50 (US) or $70 (Canadian). I don''t think the rebate is available outside of North America.

You can get it from Amazon.com ( here''s the product link ), but you''ll end up paying fairly hefty shipping and import charges to the UK. Try and find it locally. Again check into that rebate offer once you find it, I don''t think it covers the UK.

You can also it via chapters.com, chapters.ca, futurshop.com, futureshop.ca, etc.

If you''re *lucky*, you might get it halfprice through www.half.com, but that would be quite rare to find it there.

is there anyone in the UK who has either bought it or knows where to get it at a reasonable price (and how much it costs in the UK)?
Check out the legit real pricing for the Microsoft VC++ at

I recently bought the Standard for $150 CDN with $70 CDN rebate that I sent in and will receive in a month or two.
That should be $100US with $50 rebate

Where can you get it? Where are you at?
1) If there''s a nearby large university, you can find a copy there.
2) There''s probably a technical bookstore or computer store that can help. Just ask.
3) There are computer chain stores that probably don''t stock it but can specially order it. Or if you tell them you''re a programmer they''ll take you seriously and direct you to a shop that has a copy.
4) Any computer shop should have software sources. Ask there
5) www.pricewatch.com or ebay
