Lightwave to X file
Hey all,
I have a problem converting a lightwave animation scene (.lws) containing bones to an X file. There are a few converters around, but none seem to convert the bone structures - basically, when I load the animation into the SDK sample (with tiny in it), all I get is the figure moving through space in its unboned form. Are there any good converters out there which do take this into account?
Thanks for your time.

am not sure if this thing will work,
lightwave .lws load in milkshape->convert to .x,
lightwave .lws load in milkshape->convert to .x,

Have you tried this Lightwave plug-in from DStorm?

I''ve used it before and it works pretty well with bones.

I haven''t had a chance to check out my post for a couple of days, but now I have something to play with on the weekend.
I''ll let you know how it goes.

I tried these options out and couldn''t get any of them to work. the only one i see as being promising is the plugin from Dstorm. Although, all the instructions are in Japanese
And there was also some mention of needing to "bake" the animation. What''s that all about?
any suggestions?
thanks for your help

Yeah, using the DStorm plugin is somewhat a trial-and-error thing. The bake option is for IK animations. If the engine that you''re going to use doesn''t support IK, then select the bake option and the plugin will convert all the IK motions into keyframes for export (be sure to save your scene file first as you can''t undo the baking)
